Dr. Peter L. Kim currently serves as the Medical Director for Family Care Centers/Coastal Family Medicine, a multi-site primary care medical group in Orange County, California. He is board certified in Family Medicine, and fellowship trained in Sports Medicine at the San Jose Medical Center/Stanford program.
Dr. Kim uses both a standard family medicine and a functional medicine approach with his patients (and is currently certifying with the Kresser Institute). He is listed on the Paleo Physicians Network, and is conversant with Paleo, Ketogenic, and AIP nutritional frameworks. He has formerly been Department Chair of Family Medicine for Hoag Hospital Presbyterian, Team Physician for U.S. Judo, and AKC kettlebell certified. He sees the full spectrum of primary care, but has a special interest in the needs of patients over 50 seeking sport longevity at high intensities.
Dr. Kim participates in the governance of the Greater Newport Physicians IPA as a board member and executive operations board member. He has over 2 decades of experience with electronic health records, and advises the IPA on medical IT, as well as chairing its Leadership Committee for the benefit of other physicians and their patients.
