Tony Berlant is a health and fitness industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience. Academically, he earned a M.S. degree in Exercise and Movement Science from University of Oregon—with a special focus on Sport and Exercise Psychology—and earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA. He’s held numerous fitness industry certifications and specializations over his career, and most recently that of Functional Aging Specialist, and Certified Brain Health Trainer.
Early on in his professional career, Tony served as a Personal Trainer, a Fitness Manager/Regional Fitness Manager, and the Corporate Director of Education for two of the most well-known and successful health club companies of their day: The Sports Club Company (i.e., dba Sports Club/LA), and Spectrum Clubs. He’s also held the positions of Education Coordinator for YogaWorks, Inc., and Operations Manager for YogaFit Worldwide, Inc. While Director of Programs for Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc., he oversaw the implementation and execution of all training certifications and continuing education workshops for the Spinning®, Peak Pilates®, Bodyblade®, Crosscore®, Ugi®, and Resist-A-Ball® programs.
As MedFit Education Foundation’s first-ever Director of Education and Programs, he ushered in, launched, and helped grow MedFit Classroom and its large portfolio of online Fitness Specialist programs.
Tony is co-founder and Vice President of Training & Development of Q4 ACTIVE—a unique health and fitness studio concept that not only focuses on the physical longevity and fitness of older adults (i.e., 50+), but also on their cognitive fitness and overall brain health. Tony resides in Redondo Beach, CA.
