Dr. Rick McAvoy

Dr. McAvoy is the owner of Rick McAvoy Aquatics (RMA) an Aquatic Training and Consulting Company in Wells, Maine. Rick graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BS in Physical Therapy and went on to complete his doctorate at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. Rick is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.

Rick is a published author and researcher in the field of Aquatic Therapy and Sports Performance.

Over the past 30 years, Rick has consulted and trained with numerous healthcare, athletic and fitness institutions as well as the NFL. NHL, MLB and the United States Navy.

He lectures both nationally and internationally throughout the year teaching the benefits of Aquatic Therapy, Fitness and Sports Performance to health care practices, athletic institutions and health clubs.

Rick is an adjunct faculty member at both The University of New Hampshire in the Department of Kinesiology and Franklin Pierce University in the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program.
